The Flip UltraHD video camera comes with software to edit your videos. It has very basic text titling and editing features and allows you to add music to your video. The volume controls on the music are limited and we found that sometimes it drowned out the person speaking – depending on the audio quality of the source video.

Speaking of audio quality, the only downside we found with this device is the microphone has a tendency to pick up background noises.

The camera also has a mini-HDMI connector if you want to connect it directly to a TV sans a computer to do the transfer. We found this feature is great with toddlers who want to see themselves immediately.

We didn’t find the 2″ LCD screen too small on the back (though a friend of ours who has one thinks it is too small), but compared to some of our digital cameras, it was slightly small.

Overall, the Flip UltraHD makes a great gift for those who want a camera to capture the quick moments in life. I highly recommend this for new parents and those with a creative video side!
